surface mirror
Studio NAWA debuts Surface Mirror at Maison & Objet Hong Kong - its first public unveiling. Mirror offers a glimpse through a threshold into a reality that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Its polished mirror-steel surface bends reflections into fluid, shifting geometries, pulling the viewer toward a world that is immediate yet subtly altered.
The form itself is shaped by water simulation - currents and eddies translated into steel. What you see is water held still for a moment: a surface caught mid-movement, a flow frozen in time. The piece retains the logic of the algorithmic tides that generated it, carrying the memory of ripples, distortions, and liquid morphologies now rendered solid.
It is both a mirror and a portal—reflecting the world as it is, and hinting at the worlds moving just beneath the surface.
